Through a structured path, featuring 9 consecutive thematic stations, the reflection on the Passion of Jesus of Nazareth as transmitted by the Evangelists, from the crucifixion to the Empty Tomb, is intended.
The only object that, to date, directly reflects the evangelical accounts is the linen cloth which in the tradition of Christian popular piety is venerated as the Shroud in which the body of Jesus was laid.
The Passion of Jesus has always generated great interest, aimed at understanding the mercy of God. Countless are the writings, as countless are the depictions of Jesus and the characters of his time in art.
Since its appearance in Europe, the Shroud has contributed to the search for the face of God by every believer through the contemplation of the Gospel accounts of the Passion.
The exhibition consists of 9 consecutive thematic stations, the path of which provides the visitor with a complete view of the Passion of Jesus until the moment when the Apostles Peter and John witnessed the disappearance of Jesus’ body from the tomb where it had been laid in the Shroud.
